One of the things that characterises WSPA is its concern for the individual animal. This particular story came in just as we were finishing this magazine and I just had to include it. I hope that, once you have read it, you will understand why. In a remote cornel of the world, at the far end of the Amazon, is a tiny village called Boca da Valeria. It is a place that perhaps would have remained unknown to WSPA, had it not been for the dogged persistence of a WSPA supporter, the dedication of ElizabethMacGregor from WSPA Brazil and a bizarre series of incredible coincidences in which luck played a large part! Here Elizabeth tells the story of how she came to find Papudinho, a three-legged dog (pictured above) that captured the heart of a WSPA supporter.
