Selection of sizes of mock-ups of large welded components in development of welding technology

Calculation procedure of the selection of rational dimensions of models of large-sized weldments on the base of preserving in the model the main processes occurring in welding of the actual product was described: formation of welded joint, as well as a structure and properties, formation of cold and hot cracks, occurrence of stresses and deformations. The results of modelling for investigation of multi-layer arc welding of thick-walled circumferential butts of the cylinders of dissimilar (ferritic and austenitic) steels were given. Developed program complex gives the opportunity to select the dimensions of the model with high accuracy and to predict the quality of critical actual joints without unnecessary expenses.
