摘要

We have developed new wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission techniques such as positive dispersion fibers and negative dispersion fibers (+D/-D fibers) with low loss, large equivalent effective area and small dispersion slope, distributed Raman amplifier (DRA) with different pump wavelengths, C-band and L-band erbium-doped-fiber amplifier (EDFA), and so on. By using these techniques, we successfully demonstrated two-hundred-eleven 10 Chit/s transmission over 7,221 km. The combination with the +D/-D fiber span extended to 80 km and the DRA/EDFA is very effective for the long-haul transmission systems because it has relatively large reduction of the fiber non-linear effect with a sufficient optical signal to noise ratio and broad signal bandwidth.
