摘要

Incremental permeability measurement was performed for two types of structural steels along with the magnetization of their hysteresis minor-loop. The obtained incremental permeability change curve has two sharp peaks, and the width between the two peaks is correlated with the coercivity. Hence the existence of good correlation was verified. On the basis of this result, nondestructive measurement experiments were carried out with planar coils to evaluate changes in the material properties of ferromagnetic structural steel plates. Changes in output voltages from planar coils with different test plates were correlated with their mechanical and magnetic properties. The correlation is so good that the measurement method adopted in this work could be used for nondestructive evaluation of material degradation in ferromagnetic structural steels.
