Biochemical features of epiphyte and terrestrial orchids types

摘要

The comparative biochemical analysis of epiphyte and terrestrial orchid types was carried out for the first time. It was determined, that plant tissues of the terrestrial orchid type was characterised by the high activity of the redox enzymes and they differed from the epiphyte orchid types by nucleic acids content, biogenous elements and photosynthetic pigments. It was shown that the RNA and DNA ratio in leaves and root can be the diagnostic criterion when defining the ecological type of orchids.
