Heterogeneity of photosystem 2 acceptor side

The data concerning the structural and functional properties of the photosystem 2 complexes differing in their capability to reduce the secondary acceptor Q_B are presented. The methods for determining the part of the Q_B-nonreducing photosystem 2 complexes are reviewed. The relationship between different types of the photosystem 2 heterogeneity and their possible physiological significance are discussed.
