Byproducts from the manufacture of citric acid - a feed additive for mink

The use of mycelial biomass of Aspergillus niger as a additive in feeds for mink is described, and 2 sets of feeding experiments carried out in the Moskovskaya oblast', Russia in 1997 and 1998 are briefly reported. Using the additive to replace 2.3%of total protein in feed rations did not significantly decrease liveweight gain or fur quality in mink, whereas replacement of 4.5% of total protein decreased liveweight gain, although fur quality was unaffected. Two tables are given.
