Results of radioecological monitoring of bank vole population affected by the Chernobyl accident

摘要

A comparative study of morphophysical indices, variability of species and population indices and radiosensitivity in a series of Clethrionomys glareolus generations dwelling in the areas affected by the Chernobyl accident was accomplished. Changes in the reproductive potential of the population ate found not to be beyond homeostatic ones. Metabolism proceeds at a lower consuming oxygen, the amount of O_2 needed for activity of animals declines with increasing the radionuclide Concentration in animal bodies. A 'set of animal groups was distinguished with different degree of radiosensitivity, (from subresistant to extravites). Phenotypic variability for the majority of traits under study increases resulted from a response of rodent population to a new powerful factor of the environment.
