Shallow-water sea spiders (Pycnogonida) from the Kuril, commander, and Yamskii Islands. 1. Colossendeidae and Callipallenidae families [Russian]

Eight species and two subspecies from the families Colossendeidae and Callipallenidae were collected from the sublittoral zone of the Kuril Islands and at the Yamskii Islands (the northern Sea of Okhotsk). One species, Pseudopallene cirsularis is amphiboreal; two species, Collossendeis microsetosa, Hedgpethia borealis, and two subspecies. H. californica chitinosa and H. californica bicornis, are north-pacific forms; the rest were found in this region for the first time. Three new species were described. C. losinskii, Austropallene lukini, and P. collaris. One species, Oropallene sp. is not identified. C. losinskii and Oropallene sp. show more morphological affinities to Antarctic species than to north-pacific ones. The genus Austropallene was known only from the Antarctic. Relations between the pycnogonid fauna of the northwestern Pacific and the Antarctic have been revealed.
