New findings of the young North Pacific rockfishes of the genus Sebastes (Scorpaeniformes) in fish stomach [Russian]

New findings of the rockfish young of genus Sebastes in fish stomachs from the Pacific waters off the northern Kuril Islands in 1994-2000 are described. Pelagic young of Pacific Ocean perch, S. alutus, were found in stomachs of chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), walleye Pollock (Theragra chalcogramma), and Atka mackerel (Pleurogrammus monopterygius). Benthic juveniles of Pacific Ocean perch, shortraker rockfish (S. borealis), and unidentified species were found in stomachs of Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus), Simushir snailfish (Polypera sinushirae), whiteblotched skate (Bathyraja maculata), and Kamchatka flounder (Atheresthes evermanni). The data on the prey and predator sizes are provided. An increase of the Pacific Ocean perch abundance in most parts of the northern Pacific Ocean occurs on the backfround of the intensive exploitation of its reserves. This fact attests to a possible relationship between fluctuations in the species abundance and long-term climatic changes. Recently, the similar relations between the abundance and climatic changes have been revealed in many fishes of the northern Pacific Ocean.
