Shinagawa Thermal Power Station of The Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. has been built, after old Shinagawa Thermal Power Station has been removed. 3 (three) stages of Advanced Combined Cycle, ACC, system are adopted to new station. Each stage consists of one 1,300 deg C calss gas turbine, one reheat cycle steam turbine, one generator and one Heat Recovery Steam Generator, HRSG. The total load capacity of new station will be 1,140MW, that is 2.8 times of the capacity of old station. The thermal efficiency of this plant exceeded 55%, Low Heating Value. City gas is used for fuel. The dry low NO{sub}x combusters applied to the gas turbine. The high efficiency deNO{sub}x catalysts are installed in the HRSG. The NO{sub}x, therefore, is reduced less than 5 ppm at the outlet of the HRSG at the rated load operation. Stages No.1-1 and 1-2 have started in commercial operation in July, 2001 and March, 2002 respectively. Stage No.1-3 will start the commercial operation in November, 2003.
