Basis of the design compatibility of an end-on induction motor with a feed-comminution mechanism

摘要

Three different ways are illustrated of linking an electric motor with a rotor-type feed comminutor: (a) conventional, with the comminution chamber on the shaft of a cylindrical motor; (b) with an end-on motor built on to the comminuting organ; and(c) with an end-on motor incorporated inside the comminuting organ. A theoretical analysis is made of the mutual relationships between the motor and the rotor, so as to arrive at optimum design solutions as regards power consumption when comminuting grain. The results indicate that the design solutions (b) and (c) involving end-on induction motors are more economical.
