An Optimal Packet Routing Method for IP{sup}2-IPv6 Network Interconnection

We have proposed IP-based IMT Network Platform (IP{sup}2) as the next generation mobile network beyond IMT-2000 and presented packet routing mechanism in the IP{sup}2 network which can provide advanced mobility management and so on for the communication between IP{sup}2 nodes. IP{sup}2 is also required to support high quality communication with the external fixed IPv6 terminal or Mobile IPv6 nodes which may emerge in the future internet mobile environment. In this paper, we classify the communication type in the IP{sup}2-IPv6 interconnected network. Next, we propose interconnection method for IP{sup}2 network and external IPv6 network. Thereafter, we also propose optimal packet routing method for the communication between the nodes in the IP{sup}2 network and the Mobile IPv6 node in the external IPv6 network.
