Wiluite—the new mineral species of 1998 from sakha—yakutia—mineral with more than 200-year-long history

Groat and his co-workers (1998) proposed recentlythat wiluite, a boron variety of vesuvianite, was a new mineralspecies. Unfortunately, the authors did not refer to numerousinvestigators of wiluite, and that resulted in the inaccuratedescription of both the internal structure and optical properties ofwiluite crystals. In this short paper some of their results arecritically discussed and new data of boron concentration in wiluiteare presented.
