Molten metal casting devices. Requirements to such MM EST devices

Devices available in metallurgy for casting molten metal are considered. The possibility of employing such devices in electroslag processes that use molten filler metal is analysed. It is shown that so far no portable devices that enable casting of metal at the required speed are available in large-scale metallurgy or casting production. The challenge is to develop such a device for MM EST. Some top requirements to molten metal casting devices are given.
