摘要

High-luminance thin-film electroluminescent devices were fabricated using newly developed Mn-activated (Y{sub}2O{sub}3){sub}(1-x)-(Gd{sub}2O{sub}3){sub}x phosphors with a Gd{sub}2O{sub}3 content of 0 to 100 mol.%. Luminances of 3020 and 287 cd/m{sup}2 for yellow emission were obtained in a device fabricated using a ((Y{sub}2O{sub}3){sub}0.67-(Gd{sub}2O{sub}3){sub}0.33):Mn thin-film emitting layer and driven at 1 kHz and 60 Hz, respectively.
