Latest development of a novel fixed frequency power controlled soft switching PWM high-frequency inverter with a single auxiliary switch for induction heating super heated steam generator

This paper presents a novel prototype of fixed frequency time ratio pulse modulated series load resonant soft switching PWM high frequency inverter using IGBTs for the atmospheric pressure high temperature super heated steam generation system, which is based upon electromagnetic induction eddy current-based heating technology. This high frequency soft switching inverter operating under wide range power control scheme can work efficiently using time ratio controlled single auxiliary zero voltage switch. This paper also describes the practical method of circuit design to determine the series resonant capacitor and the ZCS assisted 1055 less inductive snubber. Furthermore, a soft switching inverter treated here is effectively applied for a IH-heated type super heated steam generator. Performances of super heated steam generator are evaluated through the experiment.
