摘要

Peculiarities of active quasi-optical imaging of objects illuminated by millimeter wave (MMW) radiation exhibiting partial spatial or temporal coherence are theoretically and experimentally revealed. Method of synthesis of enhanced quality MMW images is shown and experimentally confirmed. Rigorous formulas, concerning influence of receiving array antenna elements on sampling of MMW images and on resolution of quasi-optical systems of both radar and imaging types, are derived. Receiving MMW arrays of antenna-coupled Shottky barrier diodes are developed and investigated. Forward looking MMW FMCW three-beam radar sensor being developed and investigated for applications in Autonomous Collision Warning and Autonomous Intelligent Cruise Control systems are described. MMW Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) systems based on usage of antenna receiving array sensor and its application to NDE of composite aviation assemblies are presented.
