We give a simple argument to show that the nth wavefunction for the one-dimensional Schrodinger equation has n - 1 nodes. We also show that if n(1) < n(2), then between two consecutive zeros of psi(n1) there is a zero of psi(n2). (c) 2007 American Association of Physics Teachers.
