Desert communities in the southeast of western Siberia

Relict plant communities of desert type with the dominance of Anabasis salsa, Atriplex cana, Suaeda physophora were described in south-west Altai territory. The geological history of the lake Bolshoi Tassor region associated with the development of desert and steppe coenoses was onsidered. The typological diversity of vegetation represented by the steppe and desert communities was demonstrated. The diversity of lichens, a constant component of the steppe and desert communities (46 species), was shown. The data on their coenotic arrangement were given. Nine societets of onground lichen sinusia were identified together with their input into composition of plant communities.
