Pat served as the Society's Events Secretary from 2007 to 2011. In each winter issue of GE that she held this position she would write an illustrated report about that year's events. Included in the many events she arranged and wrote about were two European site visits for a small group of members: to Amsterdam in 2007 and a trip to Lisbon in 2009. Both events required considerable organisation on her part.
