摘要

It is ray pleasure and privilege once again to introduce this current issue of the JCU, packed as it is with an abundance of superb clinically-orientated papers, reviews and case reports. Although unintentional, there is a heavy slant on this occasion towards stone disease and management and perhaps this reflects not only the growing burden of such pathology within the UK and beyond, but also the huge advances in stone management, which seem to continually emerge from the near horizon. We are treated to a review by Phan et al on the devices utilised to prevent stone retropulsion during ureteroscopic lithotripsy, followed by a truly state-of-the-art continued medical education (CME) article dedicated to urolithiasis during pregnancy. Once again there are optional CME questions online to enable the award of CME credits and these are well worth completing. Our original articles continue to set the standard, not just in quality and practicality but also in the degree of breadth within urology (and potentially beyond), and I would like to recommend to you a couple worthy of reading time whatever your sub-specialist interest.
