February saw a dramatic increasefrom January in the number of cars and lighttrucks sold in the U.S. A jump in Februaryis typical but the magnitude of the changewas surprising in a year where we expectvehicle sales to decline. While the monthover month improvement was positive,February vehicle sales were 2.4% belowFebruary 2017 according to Autodata. Thedecline was led by weaker sales ofpassenger cars which have been decliningsteadily in favor of crossovers, SUVs andtrucks.
