Flaring of natural gas continues to plague operators in Williston, Permian basins

Officials in North Dakota are looking to employ legislative and regulatory tools to curb the high levels of gas flaring in the Bakken, and some producers in Texas have suggested the state place production caps on new gas wells in the oil-rich Permian until adequate gas gathering, processing and takeaway infrastructure is in service.
