Saudi Aramco to buy out refinery in Shell JV

Saudi Aramco said it will acquire Shell's 50 per cent stake in the SASREF refining joint venture, buying out the refinery in Jubail Industrial City for US$631 million. The refinery acquisition from Shell Saudi Arabia Refining Limited, which has a capacity of 305,000 barrels per day, is part of Saudi Aramco's plan to boost refining capacity under its long-term downstream growth strategy.The main products of the refinery include liquefied petroleum gas, naphtha, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil and sulphur.
