POWER AND AUTOMATION

Will Cooper, director in the building & project consultancy team at Savills, discusses the challenges around power as warehouses become fully automated. It is safe to assume that many of us take power for granted, with little idea of where it comes from or if it might someday run out. However, at present, the much maligned National Grid is running at a capacity of less than 5%, meaning a single unplanned problem could spell disaster for the UK.
