The early-winter rally continued Tuesday pushing December gas futures up a couple of cents to close in the mid-$3-teens per million Btu. Heating demand is set to rise as cold air prepares to sweep through the eastern half of the country over the next week. "These below-average temps will likely back off in the 8- to 15-day period as forecasts trend closer to average, but the cold may return with a vengeance later in the month," Gelber & Associates analyst Daniel Myers said.
