July gas futures made a run for $3 per million Btu -- falling short but closing in the mid-$2.90s -- spurred by a storage build that was below expectations. The injection was also the first during the month of May to register below the five-year average, which sparked some concern that injections are not keeping pace during what is traditionally the month that sees the strongest cumulative injections.
