Structural Composites, Inc. of Wallet, Texas has launched the latest addition to their En-Force~(TM) line of fiber reinforced polymer composite products for the reinforcement and rehabilitation of concrete structures.The new ER 22-77 material is a water-activated fiber wrap system that cures by way of a chemical reaction with water and completely avoids resin mixing, solvents, and autoclaving or other curing techniques. Cleanup is easy and without hazardous waste. It is a durable high strength material, impervious to fuels, most chemicals and solvents, is odorless and non-combustible. It is said to permanently bond to a wide variety of surfaces such as metals, composites, plastics, and wood; it may be sawed, drilled or sanded and painted as required. It can be used to repair and reinforce existing mechanical systems and structures as well as an emergency repair wrap that provides reinforcement for structures such as damaged piers or columns, leaking pipes (even some pressured pipes). Also, because it is water activated, it may even be used under water.
