Origin of the art of glass-making in China

摘要

Hitherto, the origin of the art of glass-making in China has remained controversial. Through the examination of glass-and faience-making, metallurgy, and the origin of glass-making as well as glass eye beads, this paper concludes that the true origin of glass-making was introduced to China along with imported glass eye beads. Specifically, Changsha City in Hunan Province became the centre of Chinese glass-making at that time.
