Complete remission of extensive cutaneous metastatic melanoma on the scalp under topical mono-immunotherapy with diphenylcyclopropenone

The management of disseminated cutaneous metastases without systemic spreading in melanoma patients is challenging and may lead to frustrating results. Various treatment regimens like radiotherapy, isolated limb perfu-sion, interferon-alpha therapy, cryotherapy, electrochemo-therapy and topical imiquimod have been performed in the past to control these metastases. [1-4]. Epifocal application of contact sensitizers like 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) or diphenylcyclopropenone (DCP), mainly combined with systemic chemotherapy with dacarbazine, are rarely used, "older" therapeutic options [1].
