Coal India to boost supplies to generators

State-operated mining company Coal India (CIL) will supply around 9pc more coal to generators in fscal April 2019-March 2020 from a year earlier as it seeks to reduce imports. CIL plans to ship 530mn t of the fuel this fscal year to power plants in India, a majority of which are state-run utili- ties, according to the miner.
