Citgo reported increased faring associated with a fuid catalytic cracking (FCC) restart yesterday at its 157,500 b/d refnery in Cor - pus Christi, Texas. Increased emissions associated with the restart in the refnery’s east plant were reported at 1:44pm ET because of a regenerator slide valve malfunction, according to a company fling with state regulators. Increased emissions lasted for an hour and two minutes, according to the fling. A notifcation to regula- tors indicating the unit’s startup was submitted on 2 July. FCCs convert vacuum gasoil primarily to gasoline blendstocks.
