US Gulf coast: 1.ExxonMobil started maintenance activity yesterday at its 362,000 b/d refinery in Beaumont,Texas.The refiner notified a community alert system of increased flaring associated with the maintenance at 1am ET.The maintenance was to result in increased flaring and noise not typical of normal operations.??2.Total on 9 December shut a process unit,Unit 870,at its 240,000 b/d refinery in Port Arthur,Texas,after discovering a leak,according to a filing to state environmental quality monitors.The incident resulted in three hours of increased emissions.Separately,the refiner reported an oil release into a tank dike on 8 December following heavy rainfall.
