India extends Covid-19 lockdowns until early May

India yesterday extended its nationwide lockdown by nearly three weeks as the country focuses on containing the Covid-19 pandemic. Although ports and coal transportation are deemed an es- sential service, demand from many sectors has been at a near standstill since the curbs were announced.
