The use of selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) has become a common industry practice in most cement plants in North America and it has been adopted in several other kiln processes, including lime kilns. The technology involves the injection of a reagent for the reaction with NO_x to leave water and nitrogen as reaction products.
