Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine has landed a contract from Shapoorji Pallonji and Bumi Armada to convert a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) into a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for a project offshore India. Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters has signed agreements with joint venture companies of Shapoorji Pallonji and Bumi Armada to convert the Ariake VLCC into an FPSO for deploy- ment offshore the east coast of India. The vessel will produce up to 90,000 b/d of oil and have a 1.3m bbl storage capacity.
