Rosneft plans to claim damages from Transneft after having to cut production because of the recent problems with crude contamination in the Druzhba system. The oil frm’s claim will be based on a “comprehensive evaluation of the impact of the incident on the frm’s operations, which includes a forced produc- tion reduction”, because of restricted access to the Transneft network, Rosneft says in its second-quarter fnancial report. But a Transneft source says Rosneft is unlikely to demand damages for the output decline, without elaborating.
