Posco of South Korea and SAIL have agreed to jointly build a 3 Mt/y integrated plant in Jharkhand state, India, for an estimated capex of INR180 bn ($2.86 bn, ?2.66 bn).After fresh talks, they have settled earlier differences on ownership and will each take 49% with the remaining 2% held by a financial institution, minister of steel and mines Narendra Singh Tomar told Parliament this week, with the qualification: "The discussions are at a very preliminary stage."
