Petrochemical Plant Construction To Boost Ethane Consumption

Over the next two years, the Energy Information Administration's (EIA) Short-Term Energy Outlook projects growth in U.S. consumption of ethane in the petrochemical industry will exceed increases in consumption of all other petroleum and liquid products, including motor gasoline, distillates, and jet fuel combined. EIA also projects that ethane exports will continue to rise as it is exported both by pipeline to Canada and by waterborne carriers to more distant destinations.
