Sustainability tops most UK industry agendas as businesses come under relentless scrutiny in this era of Extinction Rebellion protests and the Blue Planet disposable plastics backlash. However, while the UK government has set a target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, it abandoned its Code for Sustainable Homes for all but legacy projects some four years ago. So, what is the imperative for the construction industry to take sustainability issues seriously and what, if anything is it doing?
