The Internet, and in particular the World Wide Web, now offers many opportunities that were not previously accessible for both mathematics students and their teachers. In this column, I hope to highlight some of these opportunities, both old and new, drawing attention to those that look to be especially promising, useful or just plain interesting. A regular collection of annotated links to websites of that kind is accessible via my home page at . Focus will be on resources that are freely available rather than those that require a subscription.
