摘要

This paper proposed adaptive antenna array beam forming receiver with simultaneous estimations of received timing and direction of arrival (DOA) of Rake-combining paths employing pilot channel-assisted two-dimensional power profile in the reverse link for CDMA broadband wireless access. Simulation results elucidated that when the angle spread among paths was large, antenna gain using the common receiver antenna-weight generation method based on the estimated average DOA of incoming paths was decreased, it became almost constant using path-independent receiver antenna-weight generation method based on the DOA estimation of each path, irrespective of angle spread among paths. Furthermore, it was clarified that by employing the path-independent receiver-antenna weight generation method with 8 antennas, the required average received E{sub}b/N{sub}0 at the average packet error rate (PER) of 10{sup}(-2) was reduced by approximately 8.9 dB compared to that with one-antenna reception and that it was almost identical between in 3-user environments (2 interfering users) and in 1-user environment.
