The gas explosion accident occurred at Grosvenor underground coal mine in the State of QLD, Australia operated by Anglo American plc at around 3 p.m. on May 6, and 5 coal mine workers were injured, as a result of which the operation of the said coal mine was suspended. It is not yet in sight at the present moment when the operation of Grosvenor coal mine will be resumed. However, all the more because of the gas explosion accident at the underground coal mine, the operation of Grosvenor coal mine has no likelihood of being resumed unless the watertight safety countermeasure is taken after the cause of the accident is determined. For this reason, the cessation of operation of Grosvenor coal mine has a likelihood of getting prolonged. In such a case, the metallurgical coal production at the said coal mine will end up dropping to a large extent.
