The raw coal production volume in 2019 at Elga coal mine operated by Mechel PAO, a major metals and resource company in Russia dipped below the prior year. In fact, the raw coal production volume at this coal mine in 2019 stayed at 4.318 million tons, down by 605,000 tons (12.3%) from the actual achievement in the prior year. Elga coal mine is an open-cut coal mine located about 350 km to the east of Nerungrinsky coal mine, a metallurgical coal mine in the Republic of Sakha, and started coal production in August 2011.
