Based on the traditional laser radar equation, the incoherent pulsed laser echo equation of tilted plane is derived. Combined with the working principles of leading edge discriminator (LED) and constant fraction discriminator (CFD) methods, the analytical expressions of probability density function (PDF) of two methods are derived respectively. According to these formulas, the influences of different plane inclination angle, transmitting power, pulse width and noise on the ranging distribution are simulated and analyzed, respectively. Moreover, Monte Carlo method is used to calculate the ranging mean and ranging deviation of each ranging distribution curve, which makes quantitative analysis possible. The results show that compared with the LED, the CFD can effectively suppress the effect caused by the change of angle and transmission power. However, it needs a narrower pulse width and a higher signal-to-noise ratio to maintain a higher ranging precision.
