UK-listed Dominion Petroleum is boosting its upstream portfolio offshore Kenya after being awarded the deepwater L15 Block in the Lamu Basin, which it will operate with a 100% interest. It said a production-sharing contract (PSC) should be signed in the next few weeks in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Dominion was awarded Block L9, offshore Kenya, earlier this year. “We are delighted to add Block L15 to Dominion’s East Africa deepwater exploration portfolio,” company chief Andrew Cochran said on Monday. “The region is seeing both growing attention from, and accelerated activity by, major players, with Kenya now due for deepwater drilling within the next year following the last year’s successes in Tanzania and Mozambique.”
