European oil giants pledge to invest in Argentine shale as government vows support

The governor of Argentina’s Neuquen province, home to the Vaca Muerta shale play, has received assurances from some of Europe’s largest operators that they will continue to invest in the country’s largest shale basin. The declarations follow promises from Argentina’s new left- leaning government to pass legislation to promote investment in the country’s shale sector in a bid to cut the country’s debt pile.
