Lukoil gets go for Senegal stake

Australia's FAR Limited has decided not to object Cairn Energy's proposed sale of a stake in the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore, and Sangomar Deep Offshore (RSSD) Contract Area off Senegal, to Russia's Lukoil. In late July 2020, Cairn entered into an agree- ment to sell Lukoil its entire 40% interest in the RSSD area, including the Sangomar field develop- ment. Pursuant to the Joint Operating Agreement between the Senegal co-venturers, FAR was offered a pre-emptive right over the sale of a 40% stake held by Capricorn (a subsidiary of Cairn Energy) to Lukoil.
