Citgo Reports Strong 2018 Profit

US refiner Citgo, which is wholly owned by Venezuela’s national oil company but recently cut ties with that country’s leftist President Nicolas Maduro, reported a sizable profit for 2018. The company, which operates three refineries with about 750,000 barrels per day of capacity and has a network of more than 5,300 service stations, announced late last week that it earned net income of $851 million last year. During the last quarter of 2018, Citgo reported a $243 million profit.
